AIRO Ltd is looking to hire a DevOps Engineer based in Malta for managing the production and development infrastructure of our systems and that of our international clients. We offer a flexible working environment that can be fully remote (based in Malta) or hybrid at our office in Zebbug.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in a range of technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, Redis, databases (such as Postgres, MongoDB, and MySQL), scripting languages (Python, Bash), Linux distributions (Alpine, Debian, Ubuntu), and PHP (specifically Laravel). Familiarity with Terraform is considered a nice-to-have.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure using Kubernetes for container orchestration and Docker for containerization.
- Manage / Maintain databases including Postgres, MongoDB, and MySQL, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security.
- Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Manage deployments with Bitbucket pipelines and Teamcity Deployments
- Maintain Linux-based docker images, including Alpine, Debian, and Ubuntu distributions, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy and manage PHP applications, particularly those built on the Laravel framework.
- Implement and manage monitoring solutions such as Elasticsearch, Cloudwatch and Sentry.io to ensure system health and performance.
- Enhance security posture through vulnerability management practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Utilize Redis for caching and messaging purposes, optimizing application performance and responsiveness.
- Knowledge of Terraform / Cloudformation for infrastructure as code (IaC) is considered a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in DevOps roles, with a focus on infrastructure automation and management.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and various database technologies.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for automation and system administration tasks.
- Experience working with Linux distributions, particularly Debian.
- Familiarity with PHP development, especially with Laravel framework.
- Experience with Redis for caching and messaging.
- Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management is considered a nice-to-have.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Cloudwatch and Sentry.io.
- Experience with vulnerability management practices and compliance frameworks.
